NCDO
NCDO stands for Nationale Commissie voor Internationale Samenwerking en Duurzame Ontwikkeling (National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development). NCDO involves people in the Netherlands in international cooperation and supports them with information, subsidies and advice. The millennium goals provide the point of reference for all these activities. In the year 2000, 189 countries agreed on these goals in order to reduce worldwide poverty before 2015.
Freedom House Art
Initated by an experienced artist Iris de Leeuw, Freedom House Art is a house of art, communication and human rights. It is built on the boarder of different cultural societies, a workplace for voice and faces about human rights, facilitating communication between past and future as well as inner and outer world.
Humanity in Action
Humanity in action is a transatlantic organization on Human and Minority Rights which brings together university students from the U.S. and Germany to study minority issues from a wide range of perspectives and to explore innovative models of action addressing them. Following a five-week seminar and research phase in New York City, Fellows from Germany intern at human and minority right organizations in the U.S.; Fellows from the U.S. complete internships in Berlin.
Roosevelt Academy
Roosevelt Academy (RA) is a small Liberal Arts & Sciences university college, offering courses in Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science. Located conveniently in the center of Middelburg, the capital city of the Province of Zeeland, RA is home to 600 students of whom approximately 400 are Dutch or Flemish, while the remaining student body covers a wide range of nationalities. Founded jointly by Utrecht University and the Hogeschool Zeeland, RA is one of Utrecht University’s international honors colleges.
